Construction Coordinator Allan Lotta a cherished member of Local 44, passed away on December 23, 2025. He lived an incredible life full of adventure and accomplishments. A WWII veteran who joined the Finish army at the age of fifteen, he later immigrated to Canada and then the United States. Although originally working in the banking industry, he discovered he had a talent for building things, and his first union job began at Warner Brothers in 1964 as a permit for Local 44 in the prop shop on the film “Camelot”. In 1978 he obtained his Coordinator card and by 1985 he held a general contractor license. He worked on all genres; television credits include “Love Boat”, “Fantasy Island” and “Dynasty”, miniseries “Blind Faith” and “The Fitzgeralds and Kennedys”, features “Rich and Famous, “Grandview USA” and “Love at First Bite”. In 1987 he won an Emmy for movie of the week “Foxfire”, and his last project was the Hallmark movie “Grace & Glorie” starring Diane Lane and Gena Rowlands. Allan retired from the Motion Picture Industry at age sixty-five and kept busy with travel, building projects, attending Local 44 events and most importantly spending time with his loving family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
