

Obituary
Rodney Darryl Willis, son of Henry James Willis and Jacqurlyn Willis was born on September 19, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, California and was employed in the Motion Picture & Television Industry as a Prop-maker (carpenter) for thirty eight years, where he was admired and respected by his colleagues.
After dating for eight years he married his high school sweetheart Marilyn (Turner) Willis on November 22, 1979. This union produced Cameron James Willis on March 25, 1982, and Kristen Josephine Willis on July 19, 1984.
As a young man Rodney attended Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where he and Marilyn were married. He always wanted to take guitar lessons but instead would sit and strum for hours. He always had a great love of music of all types and attended many Jazz and Blues Concerts and festivals with family and friends. Rodney was an avid reader and always kept up with current events. He also loved sports a great deal and would always be front and center to watch a game or a boxing match. He traveled with family and friends to Mammoth Mountaintop to ski, Palm Springs and Las Vegas for some fun in the sun. Rodney was a loving and compassionate husband, son, father, and brother, and with these traits he was always there to support his family and friends.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father Henry J. Willis, grandmother Ethel Willis and Godmother Willia Berry. Rodney is survived by his wife Marilyn; son Cameron ; daughter Kristen; granddaughter Grace Michelle; mother Jackie Willis; mother-in-law Yvonne Mosley White; two brothers, Gerald and Kevin; sister-in-law Sharon Bowman-Willis; nieces, Jihan, Christianna, and Kimberly; great-nieces, Justice and Jory; and a host of relatives and friends.
