Academy member, Emmy nominated and proud member of Local 44 Robbie Knott, a pioneer in physical special effects, passed away on 6/29, due to complications from a scuba diving accident twelve years ago .

He was 73.

Robbie coordinated special effects for such classics as The Muppet Movie, Blue Lagoon, Blade Runner (82'), Field of Dreams and Dances with Wolves.

Besides feature films, his long career spanned Television series and music videos.

Robbie is survived by his son Brian, daughters Misty, Victoria and Scarlett, three grandchildren, Alex, Andrea and Alexis.

Robbie's nephew Jeff Knott continues to carry on his EFX legacy.
