Doug Poole Celebration of Life

Doug Brian Poole 

        Resident of Valley Glen California, passed away on April 17,2026 at the age of 68 due to heart failure. Doug was born in Moscow, ID to Dwight and Nancy Poole. The family later moved to Clarkston, WA. Doug graduated from Clarkston High School where he played baseball, football and was the lead trumpet in the concert and marching band. After high school Doug went to Centralia College and transferred to Washington State University to play the trumpet in the band. He left college to help his parents open the Lapwai Market in Lapwai, ID. 

         After which he moved back to Clarkston where he worked at Food City, the family grocery store. He also participated in Community theater in Lewiston, ID. In 1983 he followed his brother Jeff, to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in commercial and television production. While the two of them were at the point of selling their TV to pay for rent, Doug received a call asking if he could drive a production truck, and this what started his successful career. During his 41 years, behind the camera, as Property Assistant and Set Property Master, he worked on commercials, TV shows and several movies. He met his wife, Jane, on a month-long commercial shoot for Club Med in Guadeloupe. 

         They found each other over a New York Times newspaper, and they only saw each 18 days face to face before Doug proposed and they were married for close to 36 years. During Doug’s TV production career, he worked on many shows including XFiles, Murder One, Without a Trace, Modern Family, Justified, Timeless, Doubt, Magnum PI, Ted, and Manhattan. 

         Doug was a golfer, an avid reader, puzzler and Wordle-er. He attended sporting events and recently became a season ticket holder for Angel City FC woman’s soccer. After retirement, he volunteered countless hours at the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry. He and Jane loved live music. He loved his kids and never missed their baseball and soccer games, and theater performances. 

         He is survived by his wife Jane G. Poole, children Christopher Poole (Fiancé Julia), and Emma Poole of Los Angeles, CA. Also survived by siblings Stephen Poole of Clarkston, WA, Jeffrey Poole (Shauna Lyman) of Sandpoint, ID, Lisa Poole of Clarkston, WA, and Cara Thompson (Scott Thompson) of Clarkston, WA and several nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Nancy and Dwight Poole and his nephew Michael Poole. 

         Celebrations of Life will be held in Los Angeles, CA and Clarkston, WA.  

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Doug’s name.
