Joseph McGovern
1931 - 2009
   Joe joined Local 44 (Prop maker) in 1965. He worked for many feature films and television productions before finding his home at M. G. M. Studios as the foreman of permanent construction. He loved his work and his friends on the lot during the Dallas and Little House on the Prairie eras.

   After Retiring in 1987 he spent his time traveling the world mostly on cruise ships with his family and friends. He loved to play the piano and dance, winning many competitions with his wife Christina.

   He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years Christina, his children Arlene, Michael, Maureen and Joseph, grandchildren Christophor, Thomas, Kristen, Lauren, Annamarie. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and resided in Culver City since 1959. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Culver City on Monday, August 24, 2009.

   Rosary will be held Thursday Sept. 3 at 6:30pm and Mass, Friday Sept. 4 at 11:00am at The Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. The family is extending their welcome to all who wish to attend.
