It is with great sadness that I inform our brother and sisters of Local 44 of the passing of my friend, companion, and loving husband, Terry Nagel.
Prior to becoming a proud member of Local 44, Terry served in the Navy on a submarine during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, Terry did a quick stint at Disneyland Florida before relocating to California. After a short time in the early 1970's, Terry became a member of our local.
He was a great boss. He worked hard and was one of the most knowledgeable builders. He cherished his time working for the studios. Terry made many life-long friends from many of the crewmembers that worked alongside him. His sense of humor was legendary among those who knew him. He always tried to make things more fun by telling a funny story or causing a laugh.
Terry was a family man. He helped raise four children. He was a rock in our family. He was compassionate and loving. He treasured his relationships with friends and family. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father. He was especially kind, patient and supportive of his special needs stepdaughter, Elizabeth.
Terry had a passion for fishing that I was told started before he could walk. After he retired, he fished for days on end. As his health declined, many of his buddies would take him out on the lake in their boats so he could enjoy his last days doing what he loved most...fishing.
Terry is survived by his wife, Annie Jagerman, stepfather, Gene, his sisters, Caoline and Pam, adopted daughters, Hidi and Kerianne, their husband, Cameron and Mike, and their children, Caleb and Callie, stepdaughter Elizabeth. He also asked that we remember his stepson Jeremy who passed in 2012.
Terry asked that we not grieve his passing; instead, he asked that we celebrate his life. He hoped that his friends and colleagues would remember him fondly, recall a humorous moment, and laugh or smile. He said if they could do that, he would know his time on earth had been successful.
That is a wrap Terry Nagel...you will be missed!!!!!
