

Alex Richard Felix III, 67, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his residence in Bullhead City, AZ following a 5 year battle with cancer.
He leaves his children, Alexis and Robert; his sister Suzanne and her daughter/his Goddaughter Michele; his brother Edward and his children, Ben, Jeannie, Amanda and Brian; his cousins Jim, Marty, Christina, Frank, and David; and many close family including aunts, uncles and cousins, friends and colleagues.
Born in Tucson, AZ and raised in Canoga Park, CA the son of Alex and Armida Felix, he was the oldest of his two siblings.
In his early years, Alex played sports, including track and pole vaulting. He enjoyed surfing and had an interest for cars and motorcycles. He graduated from Chatsworth High in 1967 and from Pierce College in 1969 with an Associate’s Degree.
Alex opened his own motorcycle store in Redding, CA around 1970. From there he came back to Los Angeles and pursued a career with the Teddy Ruxpin company, followed by a career in animatronics which then led to his new career in Special Effects for Motion Picture and TV where he worked for the next 25 years on films such as Jaws, Dante’s Peak, Batman Returns, Hook, Demolition Man, X Files and Titanic to name a few.
He moved to Bullhead City in 2012 where he raised his kids and lived out his life.
He had a passion for architectural drawing, guitars, mechanics and raising his kids.
A funeral service will be held May 6, 2017 at the Sheraton Agoura Hills, with a private reception to follow.
